MESSAGE TO MINISTERS, HOME MISSIONARIES, SESSION CLERKS, TREASURERS, COM SECRETARIES AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS
Please click here to download the latest advice from NSW Health for your information.
In summary in respect of Places of Worship, from tomorrow churches can have up to 5 singers at the front of the congregation, but are still unable to sing communally. No other lifting of restrictions have been announced in respect of Places of Worship.
The NSW Moderator, Rev. Andrew Campbell, and I will be involved in a NSW Government Religious Communities Forum next Thursday, at which the NSW Premier is expected to join. We have no doubt that questions will be asked of the Premier about the lifting of restrictions on communal singing in churches.
Please note that these changes relate only to churches in New South Wales, and our colleagues in the ACT will need to continue to refer to ACT Government Public Health directions.
We are finalising a set of comprehensive Places of Worship COVID-19 Guidelines, which will be sent to you on Monday.
In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us in Church Offices should you have any questions or require assistance in interpreting the restrictions to your local circumstances.
Please share this communication.
Jeof Falls and Rev. Andrew Campbell (NSW Moderator)
