COVID Update – further easing of restrictions announced by the government

MESSAGE TO MINISTERS, HOME MISSIONARIES, SESSION CLERKS, TREASURERS, COM SECRETARIES AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS

Dear All,

The NSW Premier, Mr Dominic Perrottet announced yesterday further easing of mandated public health restrictions in NSW.

The details of the announced changes can be found at https://www.nsw.gov.au/media-releases/nsw-government-update-to-covid-19-settings.

In respect of churches:

Service NSW QR Code Check-in

From this morning, there is no longer a requirement to check in to a Place of Public Worship using the Service NSW QR Code check-in system.

Face Masks

From next Friday, 25February, there will no longer be a mandated requirement to wear a face mask while indoors at a Place of Worship.  (Please note that face masks still need to be worn this weekend while indoors at Church subject to exceptions as we have previously advised in respect of those leading the service and singers at the front of the congregation.)

We understand that the ACT government has announced similar easing of restrictions over the coming week, but for our colleagues in the ACT please check with the ACT government’s website https://www.covid19.act.gov.au/ for more information.

Please feel free to contact Peter Merrick or Jeof Falls if you have any questions about how these regulations may apply to your local congregation, or if we can be of any further assistance as you work with your leadership teams to consider how to best to keep your people COVID safe while at your Church.

Grace and Peace,

Adrian Lamrock (Moderator) and Jeof Falls (General Manager)
