The NSW Government has issued this Media Release today for your information.
It is good news for those congregations with large indoor spaces.
Unfortunately, the maximum number remains subject to the 4 square metre rule, which will only help those churches that have more than 400sqm in their church building.
Further, this increase in maximum number does not extend to weddings or funerals until after 1 December 2020.
No other changes have been announced in respect of Places of Worship, so please continue to refer to the COVID-19 Guidelines, a copy of which can be downloaded here.
Please note that this change relates only to churches in New South Wales, and our colleagues in the ACT will need to continue to refer to ACT Government Public Health directions.
